The XDiavel V4 is Ducati’s interpretation of a cruiser. While the term ‘cruiser’ instantly brings to mind a typical American motorcycle with an open-chest riding position and forward-set footpegs, Ducati likes to do things differently. It calls the XDiavel a power cruiser — and rightly so. It packs in more power than most cruisers and delivers a far more engaging riding experience, being a cruiser that can also carve corners when you want it to.
That said, the launch of the XDiavel may confuse some buyers about the differences between the standard Diavel V4 and the one that comes with the ‘X’ prefix. Here are all the differences between the XDiavel V4 and the Diavel V4. To avoid confusion, we will refer to the Diavel V4 as the Standard bike.
Ducati XDiavel V4 vs Diavel V4: Design
The XDiavel has a more flowing design
The XDiavel has a more flowing silhouette, as opposed to the Diavel V4, which features sharper cuts and creases. Its fuel tank flows seamlessly into the seat, whereas the Diavel has a pronounced dip that helps the rider grip the tank better. This has also resulted in the XDiavel having a 20mm lower rider’s perch at 770mm. Even the pillion seat is wider and more accommodating on the XDiavel V4.

While both models get a C-shaped DRL, the XDiavel’s DRL extends further downwards. On the Standard model, the headlight is flanked by twin air intakes that give it a muscular look, almost mimicking shoulder traps. The XDiavel, on the other hand, gets a panel with the indicators integrated into it, resulting in a cleaner silhouette. On the Standard model, the indicators are mounted on the handlebar.
Speaking of the handlebar, the XDiavel’s unit is set higher and closer to the rider, lending it a more relaxed rider triangle. Another contributor to this relaxed ergonomics is the forward-set footpegs, which extend the rider’s feet forward and give it the quintessential cruiser riding position. In contrast, the Standard Diavel’s footpegs are placed directly under the rider. It is worth mentioning, however, that Ducati also offers a mid-mounted footpeg kit as an optional accessory, at an additional cost.
At the rear, the two bikes get completely different lighting setups. The Standard Diavel V4 features an integrated tail light concealed behind a perforated panel, giving it an almost no-tail-light appearance when switched off, while looking slick when illuminated. This panel also houses the rear turn indicators.

The XDiavel, in comparison, gets a slim LED tail light strip that runs across the width of the bike and suits its flowing design language well.
The alloy wheels on the two models are also distinct. While both feature a five-spoke design, the Standard Diavel’s spokes start at the centre and flow forward, whereas the XDiavel’s spokes run straight from the centre to the rim. Both motorcycles ride on a fat 240-section rear tyre, shod with Pirelli Rosso III rubber.
Ducati XDiavel V4 vs Diavel V4: Electronics
The XDiavel V4 shares its TFT with the Panigale V4

Another key difference is the TFT display. The Standard Diavel gets a 5-inch TFT screen, previously seen on the older Panigale V4 and the current Multistrada range. The XDiavel V4, meanwhile, features a larger 6.9-inch TFT display, shared with the current Panigale V4 lineup.
While both models are equipped with a quickshifter, the XDiavel V4 goes a step further with the newer Quickshifter 2.0, again borrowed from the Panigale V4 range. Additionally, while turn-by-turn navigation is available as an accessory on the Standard Diavel V4, it comes as standard on the XDiavel V4.
Ducati XDiavel V4 vs Diavel V4: Weight and dimensions
The XDiavel V4 is 6kg heavier than the Diavel V4
The XDiavel weighs 229kg (wet weight, without fuel), making it 6kg heavier than the Standard model. Other differences include a longer wheelbase of 1,620mm on the XDiavel, compared to 1,593mm on the Diavel V4. This is a result of the XDiavel’s more relaxed rake angle of 29 degrees, as opposed to the sharper 26-degree rake on the Standard bike.
Ducati XDiavel V4 vs Diavel V4: Price
The XDiavel commands a premium of Rs 1.80 lakh
The XDiavel V4 has been launched at Rs 30.89 lakh for the base red colour. Opting for the Lava Black shade will set you back Rs 31.20 lakh. This makes it Rs 1.80 lakh more expensive than the base Diavel V4, which is priced at Rs 29.09 lakh.
